Update 2010: another outfitter, Matt Lord of Delta Rain Safaris has obtained a 50% interest in Kaie Tours with the intent of expanding their operations in the Gaborone area. Chris Toye has been retained in an advisory role. I believe this report of our trip still provides useful information to anyone shopping for guide services in Africa and encourage everyone to do their homework before purchasing a safari experience.

If you have found this page you must be considering a wildlife safari in Botswana. In May of 2007 we signed on to Kaie Tours Spirit of Botswana safari, a 14 day mobile camping safari going from Gaborone to Kasane. We chose Chris Toye and Kaie Tours because of the inclusion of cultural experiences, it wasn’t just wildlife and more wildlife, which so many of the safaris are. The tour also left from Gaborone, which was convenient for us. As it turned out we were the only ones signed up, so Chris also gave us some flexibility in dates and activities.

There is no dearth of glowing safari reports on the internet. However, our experiences were considerably less than glowing. If you would like the full report please send me an E-mail. I will be happy to tell you more.
